<<<The rules are dumb, but they are the rules.>>>

What about the rule about super delegates can vote any way they want?

If rules are rules, then shouldn't all rules be rules?

I agree that rules are rules, but dumb rules should be changed. Especially when we still have time to change the rules.

Kyros,

Especially in politics, there are compromises that need to be made. You may not like the way HC has gone about it but this is something that the dems need to do something about and she is trying to force the issue because it is to her advantage to do so. No matter what you think about HC, the right thing to do is to find a way to get the dems voters counted in Michigan and Florida. To me, the republicans actually had a good solution to this problem by, I believe, allowing each delegate vote to count for half a vote(and if you want to try to prevent this from happening again, if Florida and Michigan do this again in the next primary process, reduce their delegates to 1/4 vote and continue to do this for each election cycle that they disobey the rules). Especially since other possible solutions were delayed by what seems like the non politics as usual Obama campaign, I think that this would also be a good solution for the democrats to have in place and then see if something else could be worked out that everybody would be able to agree with. To disenfranchise voters from 2 states for things that were not their fault makes the democratic party seem weak, partial and stupid in my opinion. In my opinion, this is potentially more of a damaging issue for the dems than the continuing primary process. The one thing that this does point out is that I am so glad that Dean wasn't the nominee in 2004.

I think I can understand why you see it this way.

To me, it's reasonable and desirable that Floridians get a re-vote. That's what she's trying to achieve.

I guess that's trying to change the rules but it's also trying to right a wrong that was done to the voters of FLA.

More importantly, to me it's also necessary to assure that the right person gets the nomination. Most important is that I think campaigning there and voting again there works to turn FLA blue in November.

Obama so nakedly blocking a new vote there isn't good for the party....nor for him, I think. JMHO, of course, as nothing has been written that I know of.
