Several weeks ago, Carville said the Clinton donors would come up with half the millions needed for the re-vote in FLA if the Obama campaign came up with the other half.

I think the Clinton folk proposed the same for Michigan. Governors Corzine and Rendell promised to raise the money for such.

My objection to that was the use of private money to fund public elections. The slippery slope there was very slippery and very slopey ;-). It gave private donors too much ability to decide which candidates were acceptable.

I also thought it was not a serious proposal because that problem was such an obvious one.
