Oil futures up 1.25%, oil index down 1.4%.

CHK (which I own) offers equivalent of 4% of outstanding stock in a secondary and the stock tanks 2.5%.

U.S. spot natural gas prices, backed by cool Northeast and Midwest weather this week, moved higher again on Thursday

It's been so cold here in SC throughout March that the mediocre draw surprised me. Today was the first day this month I didn't up the thermostat to get a bit of warmth in the house.

There must a lot of Easter/Spring Break visitors vowing never to return to Hilton Head. Which is fine with me, of course.

GULF PRODUCTION MONITOR: March 28, 2008 Mississippi Canyon continues to show a big 288 MMcf/d drop compared to levels seven days ago. Sonat volumes also are down, but the decline has been attributed to lower volumes from Vioska Knoll because of the repairs at BP's Pascagoula plant, which diverted Destin flows to Vioska Knoll and then to Sonat earlier this month. Destin receipts are back up to 530 MMcf/d. Manta Ray said it is conducting unplanned maintenance on its 16" lateral, which will be shut in for 7-14 days. Independence hub is up 30 MMcf/d from the month-to-date average to 899 MMcf/d.
