That it does and that is the real intention behind the spin-off. However the valuation puts a mark on what the investors/owners consider fair value for the company (as bogus as that valuation is imho) in the light of the recent financial and market share performance.

It's that mark the competitors will, in part, be measured against and it makes SPSN look much better than what the stock price says at this very moment.

Going forward from this "ground zero" valuation, the market share development and the financial metrics should also gain some leverage.

I think many here agree that under those considerations, in particular with Numonyx' loss of further financial backing from the parent companies and the ramping of SPSN's own production facilities, things look very much up for SPSN and it's stock price.

IMHO the closing of the Numonyx deal is the kick-off-point for the appreciation of Spansion stock.
