It's hard to find this on the web as it was a long time ago but I remember when I worked in D.C. one of the embarrassing details that came out of the RTC situation is that the RTC contracted out photocopying services to large accounting firms at rates from $2 per page to $8 per page, and taxpayers ended up footing the bill.

Their copy rooms became huge profit centers, the accounting firms made many millions per year off of it.

That is one of the huge problems we have in this country today, where almost everyone is afraid to point out all of the corruption and BS going around because they are afraid of losing their jobs.
I realize this has always been a problem, but I do not recall any other period in the last 40 years where the "fear factor" has been intense as it is now... Very bad news for our future.
