Pretty amazing when you've grown up loving this country and find out the Civil Rights Act was all a big hoax.

I can't believe America has come to this...

Not to pour gasoline on your fire but, the state of our country is going to deteriorate much further before real positive change occurs.

While the Civil Rights Act (pushed by republicans) was a good thing, it became the trigger for many, many, many people thinking they should have some kind of special rights. The latest item I read was a proposal that short or fat people deserves special rights. Another was a proposal in my state that pregnant women should be given a handicapped parking permit. It would have applied to the third tri and two months following child birth.

On the subject of oil, Congress is holding another showboat exercise to tell "big oil" what for. This will be the third such nonsense photo op session since 2005. It will allow Congress to whine about oil profits, but nothing will be said about excessive state and federal taxes on gasoline, nothing will be said about digging ANWR, nothing will be said about better traffic vehicle distribution on those congested urban freeway systems. In other words, it is all BS by the do nothing congressional free loaders who don't pay for their fuel in the first place.

My prediction is that this year's congress will exercise their gums more about global warming than they will do anything constructive about oil, such as exploration in US and its territories, reduced tax on fuel etc.

Election year. Democrat congress do anything constructive? Not likely.

I hope I am wrong in this view.
