I found the CTIA affair pretty lacking in new content. The webcast was mostly nothing more than a regurgitation of past year events. The only tidbit of new info I found useful was Jha's comment that SnapDragon devices are now likely to slip into being a 2009 deliverable due to software issues. They didn't need a fancy PR forum to communicate that matter.

Has anyone come across any phones yet to appear with an UMTS QSC chipset? That chipset was suppose to be sampling 2 quarters ago and if it such was the case, shouldn't we be seeing new phones around now ... somewhere?

Lack of execution, lots of good intentions and a huge stock buyback seems to be the only matters one can really rely upon these days. Pretty soon, new products for the coming xmas selling season could be in jeopardy and wouldn't that be 2 years in a row?

The QCOM prototype pocketable computing device is EXACTLY what I've been looking for: Something to get TV news updates, stock prices, other news, plus versatile connectivity and very likely worldwide use. I'm not a young techie, but am 73. Just the ticket.

Couple of questions: Do you have any idea who makes it? How could all those features, plus a large screen meet a $300 price point?
