then you know statistics can lie. I rely much more on my gut and seat of the pants analysis than you do. My gut tells me McCain doesnt become a joke like Dole did in 96, no disrespect intended. My gut also tells me that the partriotism comparisons will rear their ugly head once again and McCains always wins that arugment and gains votes. OTOH, obama has energized new young voters and new black voters. We will see how that translates into votes. If i were a bookie handicapping this race, i'd say obama has a 55% chance of winning as of today. I think some of your "statistical" calculations are designed to support your hopes and dreams about this election and not necessarily facts on the ground. I am sure there is a mccain statistician who can prove mccain cant lose too. PS caveat my batting average in these matters is like a good baseball player--maybe 350 but i knock in a lot of rbis and hit some HRs along the way. You are a singles guy. (g)
