No, it's not drinking quality, but I think it's good enough to use it, say, in the SADG process.

Right now I think they just inject it back into the ground.

Nobody -- including Petrobank -- is suggesting that anyone drink this water. But it does essentially go through a distillation process so the dissolved salts and minerals are left behind in the reservoir. This water could be useful to other oilsand operators in the area who have to desalinate any brackish water that they may use to make steam for their processes and reduce the burden that the industry puts on the fresh water supply.
