Here's just one, CDMA: <By the way, care to make a list of New Zealand inventions of the last 60 years ?> We free thinkers can come up with that easily. Then we hire suitable people who also understand the concept to do the work. So I hired Americans to do the design work and actual production of initial components, and licensed Koreans to really get stuck in and make it happen, and Chinese to do the donkey work as Huawei is doing, taking over from the over-paid western world.

But for the most part, New Zealand is such a repressive, nasty, socialist, serf-grinding place that little comes out of it. The productive are fleeing to other places. Heck, Hong Kong is ahead of New Zealand in freedom in many ways. Even China will soon be more free than New Zealand, which has gone down the gurgler for half a century.

Acupuncture? That's a claim to fame? Sticking needles in people is no treatment. That's like giving opium and the British introduced that for China long ago. Sticking pins in people is the sort of "treatment" one would expect from a repressive place. "Here you are. This is what you get if you aren't feeling too good. So anything will look better after this."

The victim's brain releases a load of endorphins to cope with the shock of being stabbed with needles and the opium receptors swing into gear to ameliorate the pain. As with opium, the victim feels better, but isn't.

You can do witchcraft too and people feel better. Or worse if it's a curse. TJ goes along for reflexology to feel better. It doesn't actually change anything other than feeling better, but that's no bad thing. It's nice to feel better.

China believing in witchcraft is another reason why it won't do well.

When a racist and sexist starts their drivel, calling them on it is not introducing racism and sexism. <you are trying to bring racism and sexism in the debate > You racists and sexists are all the same!

You have NOT been seeing home prices decline for 18 years! If you bought a house 18 years ago and never cashed out all your equity, you are sitting pretty.

If you have been living in the US for 18 years, China is a fantasy to you, as well.
