"just a couple of soldiers behaving idiotically" So...if you saw pictures of OUR soldiers being treated like that you would have just "laughed it off"? It wouldn't have bothered you because you know that "boys will be boys"? The things is, it wasn't just the stuff in those pictures, even though those were hideous and indicative of a total lack of command control, it was the OTHER stuff that's been reported about guys being hung up for hours or beaten to death. You don't just win wars militarily, you also have to win wars by winning the hearts and minds of the populations you are embedded in. What we've done in these wars is actually RECRUIT people for the other side.
