Vast tax increases in this economic setting to balance the budget and reduce the national debt would be catastrophic. We certainly cant spend as before and i see no way around some tinkering to raise revenue but as time goes by, it seems obvious to me that the obama we have now is not the one with the University of Chicago dream team that Stockman Scott was touting. This is very troubling to me.

Bringing a discussion point such as raising of taxes is evil or that some is a liberal etc. etc. is a time tested failed argument. It was a hot argument in 2000 and 2004. To raise those arguments today,, is living in the past and is a waste of time.

Well said, Chinu. Apparently, some folks are definitely not paying attention to the bigger picture. The failed labels of "tax and spend" just doesn't hold water any more with thinking people.
