I think you assume that Americans are stupid. Most Americans get that borrow and spend until you destroy the economy is not the way to go. No President in history has gone to war and not asked Americans to sacrifice to help the war effort. Tax and spend is what all governments do. The trick is balancing the budget. Spend only what the country can afford to pay in taxes. So claiming that this is somehow evil and a hallmark of Democrats is just ignorant. Borrow and spend is what stupid governments due. Claiming that this is somehow justified and even smart is also just willfully ignorant.
