After 3 kids going through HI public schools we put our freshman son into a one room accelerated private school w/18 students in 3 grades. They attend 7 hours a day 4 days a week. He will finish HS in 3 years with B+ average in a school that is way ahead academically than the public schools. He was getting C's in public middle school. Now he can research and complete a 35 page research paper by himself. Our youngest daughter graduated public HS with straight A's in college prep courses. The longest report she was ever asked to write in 4 years of college prep was 5 pages. He learns 30-40 new words in vocab each week. He recently made a 94% on his end of quarter vacab recap covering hundreds of words. Price is $350 month. No way public school comes close. All this from a C student who was voted Class Clown in the 8th grade. Both my parents taught public school for over 30 years each. They simply can't believe what passes for education in high school these days.
