At the time there was. A federal appeals court (the most liberal in the nation, by the way) ruled it unconstitutional thanks to one atheist activist, Michael Newdow.


I said serious.....not some whimisical lawsuit.

The issue has long since passed, but I brought it up as an example. There was one flaw in my example, though. Your congressman, Jim McDermott, is only supposed to represent his constituents, not the nation as a whole. Maybe Seattle-ites are way left of the nation.

And maybe you are just a stupid smuck. McDermott is not Seattle, and even if he were, we must be doing something right because the living is good here.
