What comes across to me Tejek about Obama's upbringing is that he was largely shielded from the prejudice one finds on the mainland. Look, he was raised in a multiracial society and think he was mostly formed by the time he got to the mainland USA. Which I think partially accounts for how unbiased he comes across. His is not the typical 'black' upbringing and probably one of hte reasons is why he can relate to whites so well. This is, of course, just my point of view on it
