if you don't mind hanging strips of foil to blow in the breeze out side you will not have a problem.. guy next door got rid of the birds that were nesting yearly under his overhang and getting into his insulation etc. i never knew why it took him so long to take action. He has not had a problem for the four years. i tried the fake owl thing,, it brought more of them.
shooting the bird in my neighborhood will not help we have hundreds of them. our homes all cedar and they love it. some neighbors went to stucco,couldn't take the maintenance any longer.
