I recommend that you also try Incline bench presses and Decline bench presses with dumbbells. These work the same muscles from a different angle and with a different emphasis to help you get past sticking points on the flat bench. Another great exercise is underhanded bench presses. You hold your hands like you are doing a curl, not a press. It has a totally different sticking point. All of these require less weight, as they aren't quite as natural.

skeeter,

I don't have the time to get a thorough education on the Zone diet or to even prepare special meals etc... However, I am curious and would like to incorporate some things into my diet where possible.

Would it be possible for you to give me a "Zone for Dummies" course?

Is the basic premise to avoid processed carbs, increase fruits and vegetables, eat some protein with meals, and increase fish oil?

I've been avoiding "bad carbs" for awhile. I've substituted whole grain breads for white bread, eat whole wheat pasta and serve it harder than I used to, take fish oil and flax seed oil supplements, eat salmon regularly etc..
