What's more insidious from what I have heard is what whites don't experience in smaller ways, the Driving While Black police pullovers, store security guards following them around, people crossing the street perhaps to put more distance in between them.

None of those happens incredibly often or even enough to get noticed much. But that subtext emerges anecdotally from enough American minorities to make it something they have to live with, and we don't.

I don't know what their financial resources are, I haven't known any klan members since high school.

Would "a bunch" be more acceptable than "many"?
