Can you give me some background on "Newsday". Their clientele. Whether people pay money to read what they write etc. etc.

That's a perfectly legitimate story, at least in terms of its fundamentals, i.e., discussing how a candidate's fundraising my not jibe with his stated policies. The headline is biased, considering that the other candidates have each gotten more money from the firm in question. There is also the fact that while Greenberg Traurig is a firm where Jack Abramoff used to work, it has been quite a while since he worked there. Thus, describing it as the "Abramoff firm" is a bit dicey. I could also point out that Greenberg Traurig is a law firm with many other businesses besides lobbying, and I notice that the story does not even allege that the individuals within the firm from whom Obama accepted money are lobbyists. All these things being considered, there seems to be quite a bit of spin in the way the story was presented. Nonetheless, the basic story is one that was worth reporting. By the way, what's the source of that post? The story refers to some numbers from Newsday, but you didn't say where it was posted. - Allen
