I'm just re-reading the history of Byzantium. When the Greek Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches were about to reunite, after decades of negotiation, one factor broke the deal. Whether or not The Holy Spirit emanated from The Father alone or from The Father and The Son. Meanwhile, Christians are starving and the Muslims were conquering much of the world. The Mongols were conquering the rest of the world. The Christian political world (not the religion, as the Muslims allowed Christians to remain Christians, Jews to remain Jews, and some Mongol leaders were Christian) would have been dead meat, except that the Muslims couldn't get along, either, and the Mongols were conquered, intellectually, by the countries they conquered.

they get less in their own til
----

I sat on the BoD of a church for a year. I was disgusted to find out they knew who was the big tithers...and of course the big tithers got the ear of the pastor and BoD.

Gotta keep that till full so we can re-carpet the office. God help us if we don't keep the new building fund growing.
