However, the timing of the collapse of the Soviet Union had an awful to do with their overcommitments. There is no doubt that the Soviet Union had problems. However, there is also no doubt Reagan won the Cold War. Decisively. Single-handedly. Now, you can claim, correctly, that the Soviet Union had various problems, but none of them would have brought it down without Reagan's vision. Here's a great article on the subject.
