Sounds like demagoguery to me. It's not unfair at all to assign lust for power to these guys. Power is power. Lust is lust. They have one and want the other.

They think that their brand of "positive, warm, humane" collectivism will be more successful than its previous incarnations. But in the end, nice oppression is still slavery.
