But these statements are TRUE, regardless: 1) We are now not 'occupiers' in Japan or Germany (Though we certainly were PREVIOUSLY occupiers, as your post made clear.) because, 2) We have Formal defense treaties and basing agreements with both Japan and Germany now. (For quite some time....) Unlike the status vis-a-vie 'Iraq' which, at this moment, has the occupation authorized only under a resolution of the U.N.'s Security Council (but with a 'clock' on it: authorization expires this December 31st.)
