Just had a fairly strong earthquake here..
Im south of St Louis..
the New Madrid fault shook me awake about
4:30..
felt like a 5.5 or so..

"19 miles SE of Olney, Illinois
(ID 2008qza6) APR 18 2008 04:36:57 CDT 5.4.."

earthquake.usgs.gov
long in duration..
35 seconds...+

en.wikipedia.org

as to climatic events..

we have had record breaking floods through out
the mid west......
An old pal of 35+ years..
was killed by a tree that lost its footing..
due to the extreme wetness of the soils...
it fell on her car as
she was driving to work......

there are gong to be many more causal
victims of our pissing in the ocean of air
that surrounds us............
drought..fire..floods...
famine..
Bush has cast a blind eye..
or worse...
Nature...will straighten this all out..
sooner than we 'think'..
