This is nonsense. While nobody in his right mind would file for bankruptcy protection over a $5,000 debt, let's assume, arguendo, that you are correct. We (the nation) simply cannot take responsibility for someone who cannot handle a few thousand in medical expenses. I'm sorry, it just isn't our responsibility. Um, you may not be aware of this, but people have other debt as well! David there a lot of working poor out there and an incremental $5K might as well be a $1Million. I guess you are one of those "elites" everybody is talking about being out of touch.
