I know it sounds harsh but the OSC needs to investigate this episode which is fast becoming an international incident yet I doubt they or the govt of Canada will do anything which is one of the reasons I dislike this country......no one has the balls to do the right thing.

Repeatedly we were assured by management that we had the support of locals there and that it was understood that ARU would not have an open pit mine and would protect the environment. Anyway this is all irrelevant now because the general business climate in Ecuador has been damaged so badly now that even if ARU is clean as a whistle people will still hold back investing wondering ..if so and for how long before something else comes up....This is looking more and more like the Crystallex story and a person cannot take two of these in a lifetime and stay sane.

Right at this point the resource is not a factor that would get me back in. Risk reward....and the risk I will take is at 2.00 unless something earth shattering occurs. Some on another forum insist that ARU is not included in the new decree but whether it is or isn't the government there has poisoned the atmosphere and thats even if they are doing what they think is right for Ecuador which only the future will tell but its hard to imagine how on Earth they ended up with their own Dept of Homeland Stupidity

Aurelian was not the only Co. who was minimizing problems with the government in Ecuador. I recall listening to the CEO of DMM, who extolled the great relationship they had with the most "helpful" government ministry.

Show me any Company that doesn't try to be optimistic. They are all the same in that regard, to do otherwise is suicide. That's the nature of things, inevitable, always has been. That is why independent analysts are needed to try to get to the truth. (few ever do) And it doesn't matter if its a Jr. mining Co. or a General Electric or Bear Stearns. Ya pays your dime .......

Besides, judging from some of the news releases uttered by Correa and the Ecuadorean mining news, it seemed that Correa was in favour of good mining laws, which everyone could live with. It seems to me that these Cos. got blind sided, double crossed, and we all got screwed.

Your anger at ARU is understandable, but maybe it ought to be redirected somewhat to the Commies in Ecuador.
