Looks to me as if you are at one of those points we all reach, when we need to lean back and take a break. It's much too easy to get too far into this little world of posting, get over committed to positions, and then just keep posting about them.

Kyrosl is right. He argued GDP and debt. And that chart was about as telling as it can get.

I would implement a recommend button if it only registered at 10 or 20 recommends. So it couldn't be used as a little cheerleading tool; people could recommend what they genuinely like, with no influence from the herd.

And if something was good enough to get more than a stray handful of rah-rah's all of us would know. The current system tends to let little cliques cheer each other on. Doesn't interest me.

There's another difference- no one here is saying the conservatives are stupid, or mentally ill, or even your word "dim"- nor is anyone saying their ideas are anti-American, or unpatriotic, or that they don't love their country.

IMO you don't really appreciate the difference between this board and others. While a little demonization creeps in, Dale does a pretty good job slapping it down. If only all thread moderators did that, it would be a good start to a better, less vituperative world. Not saying everyone here is perfect- but it's a sea change from what you see on PFP- some of the rhetoric there is just WAY out of line.
