Or someone else who has spoiled the stew.

Ecuador has been known as the most corrupt countries in the world. Follow the money. What if the Chinese were in there and corrupted them already? I know the Chinese are looking all over SA for copper. Ecuador has lots which is undeveloped and even unexplored. .... There may be a connection because that is exactly what their role in Africa has been. Corrupt ministers of state to allow the concessions to be thrown open or made into government owned, then make a deal on them. If the companies are fragmented and their stakes are not worthwhile, then nobody can control anything and the state picks up the pieces.

I will bet Acosta is involved and in negotiations with the Chinese right now.
