We all have friends or know of someone who married a much older man. I just got back from a class reunion, and spoke with a woman who married a man 22 years her senior. The point is CHOICE.
We all make tradeoffs when we choose a partner, don't you think?

The question is whether these girls in the compound were given a choice, and whether at 15, they are capable of making a wise choice.
Within the confines of their lives, I suppose it could seem so.
And so do we allow them (and Muslim conclaves living under Sharia) to do so independent of our laws or not?

Strange but true..

The Anthropologists have written up a society,[which I doubt is true, but makes a good story] where the normal marriage is a young man to an old woman. Who, when she dies, marries a young women. Who, when he dies, marries a young man.

I've been to the Philippines 4 or 5 times and have seen, first hand, how the girls go ga-ga over Western guys. And the relationships are not all cynical bargains either. I could almost swear that the older and fatter and uglier the guy is, the more the girls look at him like he's a combo of Prince Charming and Superman. :)

yeah...keep kidding yourself....just like the hookers that *really* *really* LIKE/LOVE their johns....

pfffft

Look no further than your high school or college reunion.

When my daughter graduated from college----there was a President of the college reception for the alumni that we parents were invited to attend along with our recently graduated students---the new alumni.

Before we went she says 'Mom,just be prepared you are going to see a lot of "trophy wives"----and you know it was true, women not much older than my daughter were on the arms of male alumni graduates who were 30 and more years their senior.

Then there is my friend who is married to a man 20 years younger than she is------not the usual. She's in great shape and he is too. This is real equality! lol
