The Aroon combines Time and Price Movement on a Specified Time Frame Moving Average. Or Smoothing Factor. MA's are nothing more than a smoothing factor to reduce the static of volatility in price in a given time frame. PSAR is a unique way of looking at that volatility within the Trend. Like this one again .. it's easy to see the areas of consolidation and where the Change may occur. You can almost count Waves with it. stockcharts.com
