I read just today that 66% of self-identified Reps, approve of Bush's overall job performance.

There's approval and then there's APPROVAL. I imagine that most still find Bush's performance satisfactory when they consider the alternatives. On an absolute scale, I think not.

One way you can tell is by reading commentary. I was the first on that other thread to say that Bush wasn't a conservative. I got creamed. While no one there would begin to give me credit for my prescience, the chatter has changed. They're singing a different tune, now.

But the number of people who now self-identify as Republicans has gone down sharply over the past 3 or 4 years. Was around 37%, recently was around 27% or so.
