It's virtually impossible to be a different kind of Republican and keep the existing base intact. McCain has tacked back to the right over and over to keep his flanks intact.

Once he faces the fall campaign and a tight fight for the swing voters, I suspect he will do even more to make sure the faithful turn out for him.

It's almost an impossible situation unless the Dems serve up a victory for him on a platter.

Here is Hillary changing the rules again. If her new rules say that the one who has most wins is the front runner, then she loses out to Barack.
