I give the Clintons credit for their political effectiveness with some tactics

I can't buy it, nor can I support it. I will not.

Dale and Steve, it's comments like this in the press that grate on me. It's nothing said by either of you two. You and Steve probably don't even notice little comments like this.

But I look at them and wonder why. Why this presumption of such ugliness in her? This stuff is tossed off right and left...on TV the men giggle with each other and nods their heads in agreement....it's kind of a locker room mentality or schoolyard bullying. Not truly, but it hints at it...I can't put my definitive finger on it.

Or maybe that's it....a mindset, a total presumption of ugliness about her character followed by glee in pointing it out.

Of course, this all assumes that Hillary Clinton decides not to be completely suicidal and take down the party in a huge ball of flames. But I don't think she will. Even the Clintons have to bow to reality eventually

This was in John's post from Kevin Drum. The presumption that she would take the party down rather than give up her ambitions.

So I'll ask you and Steve. Couldn't this be said about any close race for a nomination? I've never heard these accusations made in another Presidential nomination race. Why against Hillary?
