We should work to decrease demand at the same time we increase domestic supply.

How are you going to decrease demand? Demand is price driven and so the higher the price of oil the less we will use of it - and the more competing energy sources become competitive with it. How do we increase the price - make less or tax more.

I absolutly agree with you that we need to decrease demand - for various reasons. BUT if you decrease the demand and increase the supply - we go right back to our addiction. The very same thing happened after the 70's oil shortage. You really want to go back and recycle through that again......and again ........and again?
