I agree with you, but the question remains, why do we have to give them $8B a year to defend themselves? Why can't they pay for it themselves?

I have no idea what we give them or why. But to be honest, I see them as an extension of us and us of them. This is what having allies is about. If it 8B a year that is nothing.

The intelligence we get from them each year is easily worth that price tag.
