Intelligence about what? About Muslim terrorists I'd wager. But the fundamental question remains. Why would we care about that if we weren't dependent on oil?

You and the neocons live your lives through a lense of fear and war. The rest of us see possibilities beyond war. If we stopped funding every other countries military and our own massive one, we could create a paradise on earth. Or at the very least, we could make damn sure we aren't dependent on Middle Eastern countries for their oil.
