To be sure money is a big issue and the Canadian system would be a lot better if they were spending as much money on it as US does on its system. But I am still against the Canadian system on the human rights grounds. The idea that the government should prevent a consentual transaction between competent adults just doesn't sit well with me...not to mention there are practical problems with the Canadian way of running the healthcare system; namely that unless I am given a carte blanch, I cannot accept the government defining how much healthcare I should be allowed to have.
