LOL.. I think I'd lean more to CB on this issue.. except on the American men are more generous angle..

It's not a women thing as much as culture thing IMO..

Looking at it from a business perspective... which I certainly did.. you need to make a careful choice wrt to your partner. Similar goals, ideals in the macro... don't sweat the small stuff.. I would not want a wife that wouldn't be a good business partner.. You know in university when it is time for wild oats, rice and even barley there are times when the fun is done and you pray.. oh I hope she doesn't want to talk to me now.. bad choice that one is.. I think men make many such bad choices and then wonder at the cost afterward.. Their thinking is just too often wrong headed (brief parable for elmat ;o) This may be the one person you may need to count on.. I am often amused at the tired old men with their trophy wives.. stupid old fools...

High divorce rates are again a function of the empowerment of women.. I think middle classness will enable that reality as part of globalisation.. maybe an unintended consequence from the male perspective..

Interesting that ante Mohammed the Arabs had a matriarchal society where the women could ditch a troublesome husband and she kept the store.. Islam changed that.. see how much better off we are now :o)
