Agreed. I've always believed that the bulk of Americans hover around the center, just like a classic bell curve. Americans don't want Bush, who is way far right and they don't want way far lefties either.

I've read alot on Obama and don't believe he's as liberal as that ranking or the Reps are painting him out to be. To me, he seems very measured. What puts him left though is that he wants to raise taxes.

If you want a more unbiased ranking of liberal to conservative, check out this website. It actually shows Obama as a candidate who is ranked more close to the center than Hillary. Of course, McCain is almost all the way to the right, which proves that his current brand of being centrist is simply a mirage.

On a scale of 1 to 100, if 1 is the most liberal and 100 the most conservative then here's how the candidates stack up:
* Hillary = 38
* Obama = 43
* McCain = 99

So the real centrist is Obama, no matter how he has been painted by the press, Hillary, McCain, and Fox News.

....and it may not be the l word at all, it may be the r word ("radical") that might do in obama and the sad part is that he may be suffering because of the continued stupidity of his former pastor that doesnt reflect obamas true views. Of course those true views are obfuscated to begin with by his lurch to the left to get a quick KO of hillary that did not materialize. I dont envy his position even if he gets the nomination.
