Obama has become so vulnerable, I think I prefer him as the nominee now.

You and the rest of the GOP I think.

I just caught part of Obama's press conference. He looked weary and sad, almost humiliated. He spoke of outrage but displayed none.

Like Glenn Reynolds said, too little, too late, and too lawyerly.

I was reminded of that time in the 1988 Presidential debates when Michael Dukakis was asked how he would feel about the death penalty if his wife was ever raped and murdered. The emotional response that people looked for was missing.

But Obama knows, and now we all know, that this crap is believed by one third of black America, and that third has just written him off as a sell-out to whitey. The rest of black America and liberal white America has spent many years giving this crap a pass among approved victim groups. Now their chickens - dare I say it? - are coming home to roost.

Dana Milbank said that Obama was being "swiftboated" by his own pastor. It's more true than Milbank realizes; the swiftboat charges stuck because they were largely true. In Rev. Wright's case, his charge that he represents the black church is not all true but it's partially true, and the idea that Obama has any reason to feel the surprise he now claims is clearly false. Jeremiah Wright has not ever hidden his light under a bushel.

Meanwhile, there is nothing to hinder Rev. Wright from continuing his "I'll show YOU!" tour.
