You don't have to have a better solution, in order to not think some proposal is a good solution. I don't oppose it (I just don't support it), but even if I did oppose it that would not mean I have to come up with something better.

I don't think there is any real plan that will achieve anything better. If the people and the politicians want a lot of spending you will get a lot of spending. To lower spending you have to mobilize public opinion against the spending. To the extent I have a plan, that's the plan, but its not something that can be done with legal or constitutional changes.

But... if you've got nothing better to suggest for a structural repair, and you have no desire to examine the 'comparables', then I think it's time that you EMBRACED YOUR INNER BIG GOVERNMENT DEFICIT SPENDER, Tim!

That's just a load of nonsense.

Not supporting a proposed solution to a problem, that you don't think will work to well, doesn't even vaguely resemble wanting the problem to continue. Doubting that a balanced budget amendment will work to reduce spending, does not in any way imply that you think massive and growing government spending is a good idea.

('Cause --- willing to admit it or no --- in comparison to supporters of the Balanced Budget Amendment, that's exactly what you are!)
