Also, more importantly, how do you separate Obama from the Trinity United Church of Christ?

That church was founded by the Rev Wright, I believe.

No. But he clearly built it to the huge congregation it is today. I don't see any need for Obama to separate himself from Trinity. Rather, I suspect he wants to embrace it. It's, as I read, a very mixed population--mostly black but with whites, etc. and a mix of income groups. I was struck, to repeat myself, by the MSNBC anchor who said when she arrived in Chicago ten years ago Trinity was recommended as one of two black chuches on the South Side where she could "network" given her career interests as a black professional.

Moreover, best I can tell, Trinity is the model of what a church should be, given its many very good works.

What has the Trinity church and its founder got to do with the people's desire to know why Hillary Clinton thinks her health care proposal would succeed now when she failed to carry it in 1993.

The people want to know what has she done to advance her health care proposal since becoming Senator. People are hurting out there. They are not interested in Wright anymore.

Mary, you need to be ahead of the curve when it comes to politics. even the polls out today shows that the Wright issue is no longer on top of people's minds.

It is soon going to Iraq and the economy and the comments made by McCain during a debate in the Reagan library that this country is doing fine. I am waiting for the day for Obama to share the stage with McCain and directly challenge him on Iraq and its impact on the economy. I am waiting for the day when he challenges McCain for advocating tax cuts for corporations and the end result is Enron and Bear Stearns. I am waiting for the day when Obama challenges the hollowness of McCain's thinking by proposing a gas tax holiday and his refusing to take the problem head on and attack its root cause. And on and on. On your balanced scorecard, ask yourself how many of these questions will Hillary have the right to ask.

I often attend a United Church of Christ here in North Carolina. Why ? Because it is the most tolerant welcoming church that I have ever been in. The congregation consists of poor, rich, black, white, handicapped, gay and straight and I totally wonderful woman minister who preaches on words such as peace, wisdom, friendship, faith etc. There are some 100 words around the wall near the ceiling and each word is painted in so that it is original styles with different colors. I love to sit and muse on all the words that are so positive and caring.

I don't think Wright started the church. I think his segment is just as he has formed it from the original 50 persons to over seven thousand. He is most popular.
