Instead of flipping channels while chomping on popcorn, here’s a good link to view on various things: usa.gov May I sit with you while we are watching things unfold before our eyes? I’m more settled than you, but still it is not only amusing, but occasionally scary, to see the actors prance in and out on the stage of America for the next four years. And actors they are. I can’t believe much of anything any of them say. You said: There are things about each party that either appeal to my own personal beliefs, or that scare the crap out of me I too feel this way, but probably for different reasons. I do believe there is, and has been for the last 20-30 years, a HUGE threat to the US. We should have realized that when the Iranians took over the US Embassy, and held our citizens for well over a year. We should have realized it with the Oil Embargo in 1974. We should have noticed it through out Clinton’s term while he was sending missiles over to camels butts and tents…but we were too busy not paying attention at all. We didn’t pay much attention to WTCI. ""Oops, a mosquito just nipped us,"" I guess the collective thought was. And finally, it took 9-11 to wake us up. But did we really wake up? When someone like you, who is as bright as you are doesn’t see the threat, I do despair. What will it take to awaken? When terrorists take the Iraqi oil fields over after we leave? When Iran and its cohorts nuke Israel? Or maybe we will wake up when a series of suitcase nukes come in through our open borders and set off explosions in several major cities. Sounds like si-fi doesn’t it? I would have thought so too, had 9-11 not happened, and had OBL and his Egyptian buddy Ayman al-Zawahiri not continually said they would kill Americans, Jews and Christians. Wouldn’t have believed it had Soros not said he would spend any amount of money to rid himself of GWB. He and his billions of dollars have done a good job of making Bush seem like a tyrant, and an illiterate one at that….How much do we think Soros is paying the Media to do that work ….?? I do agree that McCain’s choice of VP is going to be important. Do you think it will be a woman? One that actually is capable enough to take over if need be? I remember the Carter years, and the true disaster he was. In view of that mess, you’ll have to tell me what damage GWB has done, and compare it to what Kerry or Gore would have done….Those two are showing us every day the stuff they are made of, and we should thank our lucky stars that neither Kerry nor Gore made it through the door of the WH. I personally think that someday, the world will know what a good job GWB has done, and that under very trying circumstances that most of us don’t realize even today.
