How hard to beat the S&P

I used my browser to highlight every instance of "**" and got 4 of 39 or roughly 10.3% of us have beaten the S&P500 2 times in a row.

Only 15 of us (38.5%) show up as beating the S&P500 in the last contest.

It seems as a group we do worse than the S&P500, perhaps do to attempts to time or trade the market or we as a group are optimists and pick "early cycle" stocks we hope do well out of the economic slowdown....

On a coin flip basis, we would expect half to beat the S&P500 in the last contest and 25% should do it 2 times in a row... yet we only got 4 of 39 for 10.3%

In edit mode... Perhaps allowing latecomers but with a 1% penalty brings down our averages vs the S&P500 AND we may need a larger sample size...
