All that could be done, but to what effect ? After all the existing illegals become legal, get better wages, and buy houses, then the next wave of illegals will enter, undercut the wage markup, and we are back to square 1. Actually we take a step backwards because all the legal illegals don't have jobs anymore, so they default on the mortgage. wg

arun gera; How about legalizing the 10 million illegal immigrants in USA? ..........The other simple remedy is to grant permanent residency to foreigners who purchase a house in US worth $250,000 without loans. Huh? Sounds like you want to encourage criminals or those working for cash without paying taxes. How about just letting housing return to sensible values instead of adjusting the world to fit housing prices? steve
