Roberts was probably the most qualified candidate for the Supreme Court that has been put forth in my lifetime. I was mesmerized with his testimony, and it is doubtful a more intelligent person has ever been appointed to the Court.

That someone, ANYONE, would have withheld their supporting vote for this candidate is highly troubling.

It is far beyond a suggestion, and tantamount to an overt statement, that Obama would appoint only the most extreme liberals to the Court. There can be no other justification for withholding his vote. I could understand Schumer, who is always partisan on these matters, and could care less about the integrity of the Court (he is only interested in the power). But for Obama to have done so exposed the true Obama, IMO.

Literally, I doubt there will ever be a more qualified candidate for the Court and that Obama withheld his vote ought to be a campaign issue at every turn. I'd bet it comes up, because anyone who was paying attention could see that Roberts ought to have been given the green light from every last one of them.

Nobody who supports Obama can claim to be a strict constructionist. Sorry.
