Rush never called any soldier who opposes the Iraq war "phony."

MediaMatters.org twisted Rush's words around and the mainstream media ran away with it. Rush clarified the context in which he said his words, but that didn't matter to MediaMatters.org, who was in complete control of the context and knew that the mainstream media would trust them over Rush.

Why? Because like you said, "It's a familiar theme."
