MediaMatters.org twisted Rush's words around and the mainstream media ran away with it. Rush clarified the context in which he said his words, but that didn't matter to MediaMatters.org, who was in complete control of the context and knew that the mainstream media would trust them over Rush. You ever hear Rush and his audio clips, almost always out of context. If it wasn't for 'out of context' Rush wouldn't have a show.

Rush never called any soldier who opposes the Iraq war "phony." Bullshit...rush spoke what he feels. A soldier that calls in and opposes the war is automatically a "phony soldier"...which can only have one of two meanings ... the first that he is not a soldier at all, because, you know, there are no soldiers that oppose the war ... the second, that he is phoney in that he betrays his values...a disloyal soldier in other words. I am not sure how you defend either interpretation... Al
