Ah, the "hedonic pricing" trick. Well, a car with seat belts is safer than the one without seat belts. But they wouldn't let you buy the latter - assuming you can find a car without seat belts. So I don't buy the nonsense about product improvements keeping inflation low.

CPI adjusted purchase power grew 2.1% in Denmark in 2007, down from 3.8% in 2006. This means that people can buy 6% more stuff in the beginning of 2008, than what they could buy in the beginning of 2006. VW Passat of year 2000 is different from a VW Passat of year 1998. It looks the same, it feels the same, but the newer model is more safe. Should you consider this to be the same product? Yes, hedonics is pure bullsht. Created to ensure that fools misread the hand in front of their face. If it looks like inflation, feels like inflation, then pull your head out of your ** and call it for what it is. KISS Reality is, things are getting cheaper and cheaper... That's it, I just decided there's no talking with someone who's reality is so far from my own. Done
